Do you need physiotherapy for your sports injury? We offer Saturday walk-in clinics to provide relief and rehabilitation.
We want to make it as easy as possible to get the treatment you need, so we offer a Saturday Walk-in Clinic. It’s open from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm and is located in Burgess Hill.
On Saturdays, we have two clinicians on site who will see patients with all types of needs related to sports injuries.
Whether you’re an athlete who has been playing too hard or someone who was just unfortunate enough to be injured in a sports accident, we can help!
What does a physiotherapy consultation typically involve?
A physiotherapy consultation starts with a discussion of your symptoms. Our physiotherapist will then ask you to describe the pain or problem that has led to your visit. He or she may also suggest some tests to help with diagnosis. Once the culprit is identified, the therapist will examine the surrounding joints and muscles for any injuries or tightness.
The therapist will discuss with you what they have found, why it’s likely happening, and what can be done about it. This is followed by a treatment session that typically includes ice (“cryotherapy”), massage, exercises, electric stimulation (ESWT), dry needling techniques, joint mobilisation, and joint manipulation techniques.
What can I do about my injury initially?
There are a few things that you can do to help reduce pain in the affected area. First, you can ice the area to reduce swelling. You can also take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, such as ibuprofen, to help reduce inflammation. Finally, you can see a physiotherapist for sports injury rehabilitation to help reduce pain and improve function. That’s where we come in!
If you are looking to reduce your injury’s pain and inflammation, our walk-in Saturday physiotherapy clinic might be a great option for you. Our highly-trained and experienced physiotherapists can help you get back to your regular activities as soon as possible. Some of the injuries we see regularly include:
· Ruptures or tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee
· Dislocation or separation of the shoulders
· Injuries to the rotator cuff
· The ailment of frozen shoulder
· Fractures caused by stress
What role does sports injury rehabilitation play?
Sports injury rehabilitation is a process that helps with improving sports performance and reducing the rate of injury. It also ensures that athletes are prepared to train for an event by decreasing any injuries that may have occurred in the past. Sports physiotherapy is important for this procedure because they help build back muscle strength, flexibility, and function. Sports physiotherapy is also great for people who are recovering from an injury or surgery.
